Also known as the [[Tall Tree]]s, the Deru Trees of Marae Lassel are [[Deru Tree]]s found in the northeastern corner of the [[Marescent Plateau]]. When in the area of the trees, one can often hear them speaking. The trees are named Skuld, Urd and Verdandi in their own language.<ref name=GuardianDeru>2008/10 [[Seeds of Corruption]] - [[Guardian of the Deru Trees of Marae Lassel]]</ref> what this language is in the universe of Asheron's Call has yet to be determined, however, the names [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skuld_(Norn) Skuld], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur%C3%B0r Urðr], and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ver%C3%B0andi Verðandi] are the names of a trio of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norns Norns] in Norse mythology.
<br><br>In the [[Risks and Rewards]] event, these trees were assaulted by the [[Old One]] known as [[T'thuun]]. In [[Seeds of Corruption]], the following event, the Aun tumeroks came up with a plan to defend the Deru trees from the Old One.
